Author, author: Contemporary writers

A quick post to note that I did come up with a list of favorite living, working authors. Thank heavens!

1. Michael Chabon
2. Barbara Kingsolver
3. Kate Atkinson
4. T.C. Boyle
5. K Ishiguro

I'm sure there are more, and that readers may have some suggestions. Now, post before computer crashes a third time...

This is a nice list - the one author from it that I've been meaning to read is Barbara Kingsolver. I have her novel, Prodigal Summer - would you recommend it as a good place to start, LK?

Anything by Barbara Kingsolver is good! I haven't read Prodigal Summer, alas, but maybe we could both put that on our TBR list. I've read Bean Trees, Animal Dreams, Poisonwood Bible and her essays.

I don't know how I missed this post, since I stop by your blog everyday. Michael Chabon is one author I've been wanting to read, and I love Kazuo Ishiguro, even though I've only read one of his books. I can't wait to read more of him, though.

I'm going to add two authors I'm on the fence about: David Guterson and John Irving.
