Books I will NOT be reading this summer

I will not be reading:
1. Exploitative books by anyone with the surname of Bush. Except if it's a travel guide about club-hopping and buying blow in Paraguay. Something the author really KNOWS about. I smell Judith Regan in this book deal...
2. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I won't be watching the DVD, either. 'Cos the real secret to everything is: Get Oprah to talk about it.
3. Anything containing the words "Harry Potter." I once dated a guy who too closely resembled Harry Potter. And I once wore polyester mini-dresses. No sense revisiting the ugly past.
4. The Reagan Diaries. I really never want to get into this guy's head, thank you very much.
5. Understanding Philosophy Through Jokes. One of the blurbs for this book reads: "What do Hegel and Bette Midler have in common?" What's next? Understanding Classical Music through Britney Spears?

Great list! LOL I am a Harry Potter fan, but don't hold that against me. :-) The rest I won't touch either.

Ha, too funny! I'd love to hear more about the Harry Potter date - what a mind-boggling thought!

It's nice to narrow down the possibilities a little bit, isn't it? :)

I've never read Harry Potter and I don't think I'll be reading that this summer either :)

It's nice to look at a list this way rather than being overwhelmed by all the books you do want to read!

oh my god, I thought I was the last adult standing who hasn't read or gotten into the harry potter craziness. I just don't get it AT ALL!
I will not be reading any of the above either. Frankly, I'll probably still be reading Anna fucking Karenina.

I will be reading Harry Potter but please don't think badly of me for it. The books really are quite a lot of fun. I will be skipping all the other books on your list though. At first glance I thought the Jenna Bush book a joke. Sadly, it isn't, or rather, it's the wrong kind of joke :)

I'll be reading Harry Potter, too. Sorry. Although, I have to admit, I'm not exactly thrilled with it, considering how the last book ended. I mean, if Harry doesn't go back to Hogwarts, as implied by the last book's ending, what's the point? I don't know. Plus, the new HP cover is horrendous...

End rant. But I'm with you on the Bush daughter(s). Actually, come to think of it, I've never paid them much mind. I'm always too busy fuming over Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and their seemingly endless fountain of skankiness.

Would it be cruel of me to hope that someone, I don't know, "accidentally" loses her jail cell key? Just wondering.

LOL, nice picks! I will be on the Harry Potter train, but the rest will definitely not grace my stacks.

Oh how right you are, LK - I'll be happily NOT reading any of those. Although I must admit that last one would make me just curious enough to open the front cover and snicker my way through a book store.

I hear Paris Hilton will be doing a book about her jail time. I won't be reading THAT either!

I'm with you on everything but Harry!
