Ahhh, crap. And don't take that as a disgusted "ahhh, crap"...it's really just me lamenting the fact that I don't have room in my house for all of these goodies.
Must catch up on Michael Chabon's books. I've read none of his.
I love love love love love Chabon - this is GREAT news! And I really should read some DeLillo - I haven't done so yet - I tried Underworld and just couldn't get into it.
I just love reading about forthcoming books!! Somehow I managed to get my hot little hands on an ARE copy of the Chabon book. I can't wait to read it!
I am through with my frugal "just use the Library" phase. I sold off a lot of books I did not want at a summer yard sale, but have decided to turn my office (which I rarely use since I work with a laptop at the kitchen table) into a library. I decided to get shelving built on all walls...the luxury of having as many books as I like, all organized and in one place...
Andi, may I suggest Wonder Boys as a starting point for Chabon? Kavalier & Clay is wonderful, too, as are his short stories Werewolves in Their Youth.
Courtney, Chabon and Ishiguro are, I think, my favorite living authors. I love everything that I've read of them. I have DeLillo's White Noise, but have not yet read it myself.
Danielle, oooh, your jealous blogfriends expect juicy details!
DC, I should borrow your frugal library-borrowing ways, I think. But I do LOVE being surrounded by my own books.
I love seeing the lists of upcoming books. I'll be checking out Margaret Drabble's for sure.
LK, thanks for the rec! I've often been drawn to Wonderboys because it just sounds fabulous (and I've seen bits of the movie). Friends and colleagues often recommend Kavalier & Clay because one of my specializations is comics. Right up my alley!
Thanks! I think I'll try to nab Wonderboys soon.
