For some review I checked the net and find your blog. I feel by seeing your blog I get a bibiloifriend forever. I write my comment after reading the book and your review of the book, though it was written long long..Musadhique Kottaprambanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13962609395126108520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8995634.post-26615720340036661072007-08-24T13:15:00.000-07:002007-08-24T13:15:00.000-07:00Hey, Verbifore, great to hear from you -- and than...Hey, Verbifore, great to hear from you -- and thanks for your comment. It is an interesting book. I think DeLillo took some real chances with this topic, as you say. I read another novel about 9/11 -- written by a French author, Frédéric Beigbeder, Windows on the World. I appreciated the effort, but I didn't find it as compelling somehow. A lot of melodramtic writing and unbelievable dialog, I think.LKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05445951627105831041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8995634.post-37998745763655821572007-08-23T23:43:00.000-07:002007-08-23T23:43:00.000-07:00Just finished Falling Man last night and wanted to...Just finished Falling Man last night and wanted to come back here and reread your review. This is great and I think really got at what the book was trying to do. It was brave of Delillo to tackle the subject and among other fictional attempts, I think his is one of, if not the best I've read so far.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8995634.post-81859683102036544902007-07-06T13:52:00.000-07:002007-07-06T13:52:00.000-07:00Great review! I also don't wonder if DeLillo is one of those novelists that critics have just been waiting to pounce on, so successful has he been in the past?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8995634.post-80986090373390584012007-06-12T05:53:00.000-07:002007-06-12T05:53:00.000-07:00Interesting! I don't think there should be such a thing as the "untouchable."Rebecca H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10825532162727473112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8995634.post-49774951240283830492007-06-12T04:18:00.000-07:002007-06-12T04:18:00.000-07:00This is a great review--I especially love your ana...This is a great review--I especially love your analysis of what other reviewers are saying. I think you're right, too, about how they--especially O'Hagan--seem to want to punish DeLillo for his audacity to dare to try to write about such big events. Some people (and not just politicians) seem to have this proprietary feeling about 9/11 and insist that their feelings and reactions are the only real, viable ones.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8995634.post-388047297829490042007-06-12T01:48:00.000-07:002007-06-12T01:48:00.000-07:00Wow! It might not be this book, but I see that I really must try him out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
